Overview

What should we Tell The Solicitor.

We seriously advise you to contact your family solicitor to ensure all your affairs are in order. The solicitor will advise you of your rights after death in the unfortunate circumstances of an accident or possibly terminal illness. The solicitor will tend to remind you of such liabilities as education of your children and provision for any dependents.

A Will

You are advised to have a Will at all times, whether you have cancer or not as accidents do happen! If you have family, dependents, assets and liabilities it is as well to have your Will drawn up by a professional as they may well consider items that you would overlook based upon not only their expertise but also experience of sorting out the mess left behind by those who unexpectedly died leaving no will.

A Will is a relatively simple document stating the disbursement of your assets - to whom and in what form. The British Courts will uphold 'intent' as with the last will and testament made some years ago by a Millionaire, wherein he stated 'To my wife ..... I leave two hats and one shilling and the balance of my estates and assets I leave to my mistress Miss .....'

Investments

It is important that together with your Will you include a schedule of any and all investments you may own including properties, shares, premium Bonds and the like.

Insurances

You should list such insurances as you may have - including pension funds and the like.
